Solomon
The wise king
Son of David; he asked for wisdom and built the temple, but his many alliances led him astray in the end.
The right request
Able to ask for anything, the young king asks for 'an understanding heart' to govern, and God gives him wisdom, riches and honor.
Wisdom and downfall
He builds the temple and writes proverbs, but his many alliances and marriages lead him into idolatry, wisdom that is not guarded is lost.
