The courageous successor
Moses’ right-hand man, he leads Israel into the Promised Land; “be strong and courageous.”
'Be strong and courageous'
After Moses' death, God repeats to Joshua the call to courage grounded in His presence: 'I will never leave you nor forsake you'.
The conquest and the choice
He leads Israel across the Jordan and through Jericho, and at the end challenges the people: 'choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve… As for me and my house, we will serve the LORD!'
