John
The beloved disciple
Son of Zebedee; at the cross he received Mary as his mother, and he ran to the empty tomb. Traditionally the author of the fourth Gospel.
From “son of thunder” to the apostle of love
An impulsive fisherman, son of Zebedee, part of the inner circle. Over time, he becomes the apostle who speaks most about love.
The faithful witness
He was at the transfiguration and in Gethsemane, was the only apostle at the foot of the cross and the first to believe at the empty tomb. Tradition attributes to him the fourth Gospel, three letters and Revelation.
