The prophet of the Servant
Isaiah prophesied in Jerusalem for decades, announcing judgment and hope. No prophet is quoted more about Jesus in the New Testament.
He saw the cross from afar
About 700 years earlier, Isaiah 53 describes a 'suffering Servant' pierced for our transgressions, silent before those who afflicted him, read by the church as a portrait of Jesus. And Isaiah 7:14 announces 'Immanuel', God with us.
