The empty tomb
At dawn on the first day, women find the stone rolled away and the tomb empty. The resurrection is the foundation of the whole Christian faith.
Unlikely witnesses
The first witnesses were women, whose testimony had little legal weight at the time, a detail many see as a sign of authenticity, since no one would make it up that way.
Appearance after appearance
Jesus appears to Magdalene, to the two on the road to Emmaus, to the disciples, to Thomas and, according to Paul, to more than 500 people at once, “most of whom are still living” when he wrote.
