A path through the waters
God parts the sea and Israel escapes the Egyptian army, the great act of deliverance in the OT.
Trapped
With the sea ahead and the Egyptian army behind, the people panic. Moses answers: 'Stand firm and you will see the LORD's salvation'.
A way through the impossible
God opens the sea; Israel crosses on dry ground and the army is swallowed up. It is the founding act of Israel's faith, remembered throughout the Bible.
