The announcement to Mary
The angel Gabriel announces to Mary, a young woman from Nazareth, that she will conceive Jesus by the Holy Spirit. Faced with the impossible, she answers in faith: “May it happen to me according to your word” (Luke 1:38).
An impossible announcement
Gabriel announces to Mary that she will conceive the Son of the Most High by the Holy Spirit, even though she is a virgin.
Mary’s “yes”
“I am the Lord’s servant.” “May it happen to me according to your word.” A yes that accepts risk and mystery.
