Daniel and the Lions
A Bible story for kids ages 3–8. Read it together, do the actions and talk at the end.
Daniel worked for King Darius. He was honest and did everything really well. The king liked him a lot!
Some men got jealous. They looked for something wrong with Daniel, but they couldn't find anything!
👉 Make a magnifying glass with your hands and search the room!
So they made a plan: a law saying that for thirty days, no one could pray or ask for anything except from the king!
Daniel went home, opened the window and knelt down to pray, three times a day, just like always.
👉 Kneel, fold your hands and whisper: thank you, God!
The men told the king. The king was sad, because he liked Daniel, but the law couldn't be changed.
Daniel was put in the lions' den. The king said: your God will save you!
That night, the king couldn't even sleep. And in the den? God sent an angel, who shut the lions' mouths!
👉 Cover your mouth with your hands, shut tight, like the lions' mouths!
Very early, the king ran to the den and called: Daniel! And Daniel answered: I'm fine, my God protected me!
👉 Run in place really fast, like the king!
Daniel came out without a single scratch! The king was so happy and wrote to everyone: Daniel's God is the living God!
👉 Jump and celebrate: God takes care of me!
Verse: “My God sent His angel and shut the mouths of the lions” (Daniel 6:22)
