The thirst only God can quench
The life Jesus offers: a spring within that wells up to eternal life and quenches the soul's deepest thirst. Promised to the Samaritan woman at the well, it is the Spirit Himself in those who believe (John 4:14; 7:38).
The thirst nothing can quench
At the well, Jesus speaks of a water that quenches thirst forever. He points to the emptiness that success, relationships and achievements can't fill.
A spring within
Whoever drinks from Him receives 'a fount of water springing up to eternal life', not a sip, but an inner spring, the Spirit.
