The story
A woman had been bleeding for twelve years, which made her ritually unclean and isolated. She touches the edge of Jesus’ cloak in the crowd and is healed; he stops everything to call her “Daughter.”
The meaning
Jesus is not defiled by her uncleanness: his purity reaches her. And he doesn’t leave her anonymous; he restores her dignity in public.
