The man born blind
Seeing for the first time
Jesus heals a man blind from birth; when questioned, he declares: “There is one thing I do know: I was blind, but now I see!”
Who sinned?
The disciples see suffering as punishment: “who sinned, this man or his parents?” Jesus rejects that logic and says the work of God will be displayed there.
From blind man to witness
Once healed, the man is questioned by the leaders and, with no sophisticated theology, answers: “There is one thing I do know: I was blind, but now I see!” Physical light becomes spiritual light.
