The Ascension
Taken up to heaven
After rising and commissioning the disciples, Jesus is taken up to heaven before their eyes. Two angels promise that He “will come back in the same way,” and the disciples wait, in prayer, for the promised Spirit (Acts 1).
The Great Commission
Before leaving, Jesus sends the disciples to make disciples of all nations, promising to be with them 'always'.
