God's Wind and Fire
A Bible story for kids ages 3–8. Read it together, do the actions and talk at the end.
Before going back to heaven, Jesus promised His friends: the Holy Spirit will come upon you!
Jesus' friends waited in Jerusalem, all together, praying every day.
👉 Fold your hands and stay very still, waiting.
The day of the feast of Pentecost came. They were all together in one place.
Suddenly, a sound came from heaven, like a mighty rushing wind! Whooosh! The sound filled the whole house.
👉 Make the sound of the wind: whooosh!
Little flames like fire appeared, and one came to rest on each of them. How beautifully they glowed!
👉 Put your hand on top of your head, like a little flame!
They were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other languages!
There were visitors from many countries in Jerusalem. A crowd came running to see what that noise was.
👉 Run in place, like the curious crowd!
What a surprise! Each one heard about the wonders of God in their own language!
👉 Say God loves you in another language: Dios te ama! Deus te ama!
Everyone was astounded, which means very, very surprised! They asked, “What does this mean?”
👉 Make a surprised face: wow!
It was the Holy Spirit! He came to help Jesus' friends tell the whole world about God's love.
Verse: “they were all filled with the Holy Spirit” (Acts 2:4)
