God Made Everything!
A Bible story for kids ages 3–8. Read it together, do the actions and talk at the end.
In the beginning, everything was dark and empty. But God was already there!
👉 Squeeze your eyes shut tight: it was dark like this!
God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light! God called the light day and the dark night.
👉 Open your eyes and hands really fast: POP, light!
Then God made the sky way up high, so big, with fluffy clouds.
👉 Stretch your arms up high and try to touch the sky!
God gathered the waters into seas and made dry land appear. Plants, flowers and fruit trees grew on it!
👉 Crouch down and grow slowly, like a little seed!
God put the sun to shine by day, and the moon and stars to shine by night.
👉 Open and close your hands like little stars: twinkle, twinkle!
In the water, little fish swimming: blub, blub! In the sky, little birds flying: tweet, tweet!
👉 Flap your arms like wings and fly around the room!
Then came the land animals: the elephant, the lion, the cow… moo! And God saw that it was good.
👉 Pick an animal and make its sound really loud!
God planted a beautiful garden, Eden. There He put the man and the woman, made like Him, with lots of love.
👉 Put your hand on your heart: God made you with love!
God looked at everything and saw that it was very good! On the seventh day, God rested.
👉 Shout it out: VERY GOOD! Then lie down and rest a little.
Verse: “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.” (Genesis 1:1)
To talk about with your child
- What part of God's creation do you like best?
- God made you with love. What do you like most about yourself?
Mission of the week: Go outside and look at the sky with someone in your family, and thank God for three things He made.
