Bartimaeus Sees Again
A Bible story for kids ages 3–8. Read it together, do the actions and talk at the end.
On the way out of the city of Jericho, a man named Bartimaeus was sitting beside the road.
👉 Sit down on the floor, nice and quiet.
Bartimaeus was blind: his eyes couldn't see anything. He asked the people passing by for help.
👉 Close your eyes really tight. Can you see anything?
One day, he heard a big noise of people going by. It was Jesus! Lots of people were with Him.
👉 Put your hand behind your ear: who's coming?
Bartimaeus cried out loud, “Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!” Mercy is help full of love.
👉 Cup your hands around your mouth and call: Jesus!
Many people told him to be quiet. But Bartimaeus cried out even louder!
👉 Say really loud: Jesus, help me!
Jesus stopped and said, “Call him.” The people said, “Take courage!” “Get up! He is calling for you.”
👉 Jump up in one hop!
Bartimaeus threw off his cloak, jumped up and hurried to Jesus!
👉 Toss off a pretend cloak and jump!
Jesus asked, “What do you want Me to do for you?” Bartimaeus answered: I want to see again!
👉 Think a little: what would you ask Jesus for?
“Go,” said Jesus, “your faith has healed you.” Right away, Bartimaeus opened his eyes and saw everything!
👉 Open your eyes really wide: wow, what colors!
And what did he do? He followed Jesus along the road, as happy as can be!
👉 March happily in place, following Jesus!
Verse: “Get up! He is calling for you.” (Mark 10:49)
